Teacher Archana Sharma talks about reading in her class and the motivators for her students. She too thinks that students benefit from their parents’ increased knowledge of their school goals and achievements.

I was very pleased with last year’s reading results because there was so much change because what I feel that students in my class are not extrinsically motivated but intrinsically motivated. They want to come and they learn and they go back home and parents tell me they want to take a piece of paper and they want to write down a story, they want to read their book. They are all aware of their targets, they know at what level they are, and where they need to be by the end of the term.
