How it works

The implementation resources matrix is a tool for organising resources and information to support professional learning and leadership as schools implement the New Zealand Curriculum.

Teachers can suggest sites they have found useful and comment on ways they have successfully used these resources.

This design recognises that curriculum development is an ongoing, evolutionary process. It connects to the three phases of implementation with the diverse needs within schools – some of which have established excellent practices to build upon (ie may be operating at the sustaining practice end of the matrix), while others face considerable change. This organisational matrix uses a concerns-based adoption model approach.

New materials are added at the top of each resource section – except in the case of important official information (for example, From the New Zealand Curriculum to School Curriculum) which will be at the forefront. Each addition is tagged in categories (for example, news, reading, multimedia) to indicate its relevance to primary or secondary schools, or general audiences.
