Purpose:
The provision of these services aims to empower overall school leadership – boards, principals, and all leaders in schools and kura – with knowledge and understanding of Pasifika to strengthen their ‘Pasifika competence’. The services must support identity, language, and culture as key to raising Pasifika student achievement.
Outcome sought through procurement:
Non-Pasifika school leaders and boards grow their Pasifika capacity and competency to lead raising Pasifika achievement within their schools.
Notes:
- Schools and kura need to become more Pasifika capable and Pasifika culturally competent. This provision will enable a cultural shift within the school, led by the leadership team alongside school governance, and result in plans for sustainability.
- Flexible provision across contexts will result in raised Pasifika student achievement through building capability and capacity of provision in schools and kura.
- Proposals should make explicit the provider’s knowledge of what works with Pasifika to raise achievement.
