Digital technologies and Hangarau Matihiko

Is your school or kura ready to integrate the new Digital Technologies and Hangarau Matihiko curriculum content into your classroom learning?

Here’s two ways you can support staff as they incorporate the new curriculum content.

  1. Elect a lead person to manage incorporating the new curriculum content into your local curriculum.
  2. Ensure all teachers/kaiako of students in Years 1-10 (and 11-13 specialist teachers) have signed up to the Kia Takatū ā-Matihiko | Digital Readiness Programme – it has a self review tool, self-paced learning through online pīkau (toolkits), digital leaders course, online communities, and regional meet-ups. Kia Takatū ā-Matihiko supports both beginner and experienced teachers. Each pīkau provides resources and ideas to support the teaching and learning of Digital Technologies and Hangarau Matihiko content within the revised Technology Learning Area and Hangarau Wāhanga Ako of the national curriculum. For more information about this programme and other professional supports go to Technology Online on the TKI website.
